Lab policies

  1. If you receive reagents such as buffers or enzymes, put your initials and date you received them or opened them. This lets us throw away things that are too old.

  2. Label all new or existing lab wares such as magnetic tube holders, glassware, ice buckets with our lab name (Subramaniam) and room (B3-135). Use the paint markers below the common lab computer.

  3. Label your carboard boxes, cryo vials, plasmid tubes by printing on appropriate labels. Do not handwrite.

  4. Hand-write the oligo number on top of your oligo tubes.

  5. Defrost your refrigerator and freezers once in 6 months.

  6. When using the pH meter, rinse the electrode with distilled water after measurements, store it in electrode storage solution, turn the meter off by holding the power button, and leave the instrument off when not in use.
